Chick Flicks Short Film Competition
Now accepting submissons for the Chick Flicks Short Film Competition. This year's submissions will also be considered for to the Women in Film and Television International Showcase that will screen March 2013 in various cities around the world. The short film competition is the final night of the festival, Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Angelika theater in Dallas.
Film requirements:
--15 minutes (max)
--Completed After 2010
--Must have at least two women in a key role: Director, Producer, Director of Photography, Actor, Writer, Animator, and / or Editor.

Fantastic Arcade
Fantastic Arcade fuses the world of independent film and independent gaming, bringing together artists and professionals who are telling stories and creating experiences in film, games and online entertainment simultaneously. The Fantastic Arcade showcases a curated selection of brand new independent games as well as a larger sampling of important groundbreaking independent games.Selected games will proceed to the second round of submissions and will be asked to provide a playable version of the game for Fantastic Arcade festival programmers. Official selections for the Arcade will be made based on each game's art, story, characters, gameplay and, most importantly, connection with the character of Fantastic Fest.

The Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival is accepting entries for their 25th annual festival, to be held in Austin, October 4 - 7, 2012. The Bayou City Inspirational Film Festival is accepting educational, inspirational and positive works in the following categories:
Short Films - narrative or animation, 59 mins or less
Feature Films - narrative or animation, 60 mins - 120 mins
TV Pilots - 1 episode, 45 mins or less
Animated Series - 1 episode, 45 mins or less
Music Videos - less than 10 mins
Documentaries- short or feature length projects
Student Films - Short or feature length films.
Young Filmmakers - Short films, 30 minutes or less in length, made by filmmakers 19 years old age younger at time of submission that are still in high school.

Dallas VideoFest 24 Hour Video Race
Team registration is open for the Dallas VideoFest 24 Hour Video Race. Teams will have 24 hours to write, shoot, edit and score an original short film. This year's race will begin at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas on Friday May, 4 with a theme, prop, location and line of dialogue assignment for the film. The race concludes 24 hours later with a sprint to the finish line back at the Angelika. All of the films submitted the deadline will be entered in to competition for the 2012 Dallas VideoFest in September. Registration is open until 12 p.m. May 4, 2012.

Cinema Touching Disability
The Cinema Touching Disability Film Festival and Short Film Competition is the first and longest-running disability film festival in Texas. Now accepting short film submissions (3 - 20 minutes) made about a disability or starring / produced / directed by a person with a disability. There are two divisions for the competition: Emerging Filmmakers (ages 18 +) and Scholastic Filmmakers (grades 6 - 12).
