Capital City Black Film Festival

The Capital City Black Film Festival (CCBFF) welcomes features, shorts, documentary features and documentary/short films and music videos for its competitive program. CCBFF accepts film submissions from all filmmakers including student filmmakers; however, to be eligible for the festival's competitive program, one of the film's creative principles, i.e. the writer, director or producer must be Black or of African heritage. All other films will be considered for our invitational program.

24fps International Short Film Festival

24fps 2014 will be held November 7 - 8, 2014 at the historic Paramount Theatre in Abilene, Texas. Official Selected Films will be publicly screened in competition during the festival. There is no entry fee for submissions. The competition is open to film and video works produced after January 1, 2011 with a maximum running time of 20 minutes.

Lone Star Film Festival

The Lone Star Film Festival is accepting short and feature film submissions for the 2014 festival, November 6 - 9 in Fort Worth. The LSFF Feature Film Competition Program focuses on new works from emerging talents made with modest budgets. Feature films and filmmakers accepted into the program will receive one-on-one mentorship from leaders in the fields of distribution and marketing.

Josiah Media Festival

The Josiah Media Festival is URBAN-15's annual nationwide film and media event that is open only to filmmakers age 21 and younger. It is named after Josiah Miles Neundorf, a talented media artist from San Antonio who passed away in 2006. The festival is accepting short film submissions (20 minutes or less) for the 2014 festival. All key contributors on the submitted film--director, writer, editor, director of photography--must have been 21 years old or younger at the time the submitted film was made.

24 Hour Video Race

Team registration is open for the 24 Hour Video Race in Dallas. The 2014 race will begin at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas at Mockingbird Station on Friday May 9, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. The race concludes 24 hours later with a sprint to the finish line back at the Angelika. All of the films that make it by the deadline will be screened at the Angelika and compete for awards and bragging rights. The winning videos will also be screened on KERA Channel 13's Frame of Mind, and on You+Media Dallas.Registration is open at http://register.24hourvideorace.com/ until 5 p.m. May 10.

Cinema Touching Disability

The Cinema Touching Disability Film Festival strives to challenge viewers to examine the portrayal of people with disabilities in film and challenge negative stereotypes and to champion realistic portrayals of people with disabilities as fully dignified human beings with the potential to live full and productive lives.

The short film competition is your opportunity to share your view of disability with the Cinema Touching Disability audience. We want interesting, imaginative, and creative representations of disability on film.
