Oct 30, 2012 - Dennis Bishop to Receive Receive Commitment to Texas Award at LSIFF

The Lone Star Film Festival will present Dennis Bishop with the Lone Star Film Festival Commitment to Texas Award during the 2012 festival, November 7 - 11 in Fort Worth Texas. Bishop has overseen numerous commercially successful and award-winning feature and television productions including "Local Hero," Horton Foote's Academy Award-winning "The Trip to Bountiful," "The Fast and the Furious" and the pilot of the Showtime series "Dexter." As vice president of production for HBO, Bishop oversaw 27 films that won 51 major awards including 18 Emmy Awards.

Bishop will participate in a conversation about his career at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 10 in the Tandy Lecture Hall at the Fort Worth Library. The event is free and open to the public. That evening he will be honored at the LSFF Filmmaker Awards dinner at the Scat Jazz Lounge in Sundance Square.
