SCOUTING

Looking for locations in Texas? Tell us what you're looking for and our experienced location department will find it in Texas. Our office is your guide to all that Texas has to offer, from terrain to towns throughout the state. With TEXscout (SM), our Web-based location management system, we can quickly assemble and deliver customized digital location package. Please call the Texas Film Commission at 512-463-9200 and ask to speak with a location scout.

PERMITS

In general, the State of Texas does not require film permits. However, local governments may require permits to film on most city-owned properties, including city streets and parks. Our location department can put you in touch with the appropriate offices to arrange permission and initiate the permit process.

LIAISON

State Property Use
If you are interested in filming at property owned and/or operated by the State of Texas, the Texas Film Commission must be your first call. We will help you determine which locations suit your project, navigate you through the rules and restrictions for filming at the facilities, and serve as a liaison to the appropriate state agencies. We can also connect you to the appropriate people at municipalities for filming on city and county-owned property.

Please visit our State Property Use page for more information.

General Property Use
No matter what kind of property, whether publicly or privately owned, we can help put you in touch with the right people to arrange permission to film. Texas' Regional Film Commissions are also a great local resource, and we can help connect you with them.
