    Texas Department of Criminal Justice officials have cancelled weekend visitation at the following facilities unless their commercial power is restored : Cleveland Unit, Eastham Unit, Ellis Unit, Ferguson Unit, Lewis Unit, Darrington Unit, Hospital Galveston, Central Unit, Stiles Unit, Gist State Jail, LeBlanc Unit, Plane State Jail, Henley State Jail, Hightower Unit and the Jefferson County Jail where TDCJ has leased beds. Visitors are advised to contact TDCJ's hurricane hotline at 936-437-6127 or the specific unit before attempting to visit.

    Texas Department of Criminal Justice

    The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is working Thursday to repopulate the Clemens Unit in Brazoria. Offenders evacuated from the Terrell Unit in Rosharon, Glossbrenner Unit in San Diego and Stevenson Unit in Cuero have already returned to their respective facilities. A total of 16 prison units and one administrative office remained without commercial power Thursday morning and all are running on emergency generators. Family members requesting information on an offender may call TDCJ's 24-hour hurricane hotline at 936-437-6127.

    Texas Department of Criminal Justice

    The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is working Wednesday to repopulate the Terrell Unit in Rosharon, and a portion of the Clemens Unit in Brazoria. On Wednesday, offenders were being moved to the Clemens Unit trusty camp and the remainder of the unit populatino is expected to be transferred back to the facility on Thursday. A total of 21 TDCJ facilities were still without commercial power late Tuesday and all are running on emergency generators.     TDCJ's Power Being Re-Stored

    Texas Department of Criminal Justice

    More than two dozen Texas Department of Criminal Justice units throughout the Huntsville, Brazoria, Houston, Navasota and Beaumont areas are without commercial power and are running on emergency generators. TDCJ maintenance crews are continuing to work to assess and repair facilities for repopulation. As of Tuesday morning, two units have been repopulated - the Stevenson Unit in Cuero and the Glossbrenner Unit in San Diego. TDCJ's administrative offices resumed normal operations on Tuesday. Family members requesting information on an offender may call TDCJ's 24-hour hurricane hotline at 936-437-6127.
