Texas A&M University has a liberal arts-oriented B.A. Music Program in a comprehensive state university setting. Program emphases are composition, ethnomusicology, and music theory. A broad range of courses are offered in music history, theory, composition, electronic music, recording, and world music. The Music Program offers concerts and residencies by a wide range of nationally and internationally renowned visiting artists, as well as regular faculty recitals. An audition is required for admission. The Music Program is part of the Department of Performance Studies, which also includes a liberal arts-oriented B.A. degree in Theatre Arts.
