North Lake College offers an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree and a complete Music Field of Study that provides a broad base of experience for students who plan to transfer to a senior college or university. The Music Field of Study plan is accepted by all state of Texas colleges and universities in total. The University of Dallas is a small private Catholic university that provides a music program which is an extension of the University's strong focus in philosophy and the arts. Music courses include Music of the Western World, Music Theory, Piano, and private instruction in voice, piano and other instruments. Currently there are no music degrees offered. Performance opportunities include the Chamber Ensemble and a number of choral groups which are open for campus-wide participation. Colleqium Cantorum, a liturgical choir founded in Fall 1993, has earned local as well as international recognition for its presentation of Renaissance polyphony in masses and other liturgical services.
