Lubbock Christian University offers a Bachelor of Arts in Music with optional teacher certification. This major aims to develop creative and professional leaders in the arts with a Christian foundation. The major in music emphasizes music theory, vocal performance, and appreciation and understanding of the various styles of music throughout history. The student will learn to contribute to the perpetuation of the creative arts, thus benefiting society, while enhancing his or her enjoyment of music as an art form. Also affiliated with the Texas Federation of Music Clubs. LCU has recently added the B.A. in Music with business emphasis and the B.A. in music with pre-music therapy degrees. Performance opportunities include Chamber Singers, Praise Choir (Dr. Philip Camp 806-720-7429), Fort� (Dr. Laurie Doyle 806-720-7429), and Chamber Ensemble (Dr. Ruth Holmes 806-720-7429). Performance facilities include the Swearingen Recital Hall (100 seats), Moody Auditorium (1,260 seats) and the Christian Development Center Theater (175 seats).
