Paris Junior College offers a variety of
music majors with an emphasis on keyboard and vocal music, as well as some instrumental
music. Paris Junior College sponsors a show choir, chamber singers, chorale and
a small instrumental ensemble. Musical theater productions are presented in alternate
years. Music fundamentals and the four-semester sequence of harmony, sightsinging,
and eartraining classes are offered. Individual instruction is available in piano,
organ, voice, woodwinds, brass, and guitar. Ensembles include: the PJC Chorale
with 45 members - contact Pat Fowzer (903) 782-0343; the PJC Chamber Singers with
20 members - contact Pat Fowzer; Encore! which is PJC's show choir with 22 members.
On-campus concert halls include the Karrer Theatre for the Performing Arts with
375 seats - contact Cathey Huey (903) 782-0242; the DeShong Chapel with 100 seats
- contact Pat Fowzer (903) 782-0343; and the J. Emory Shaw Recital Hall with 110
