LSCPA prepares students for careers as sound engineers and session musicians. We offer two Associate of Applied Science degrees in Commercial Music: Performance and Sound Engineer. Facilities include three recording studios with a control room and separate editing and isolation booths; Pro Tools HD system running onboard a Macintosh quad core G5 computer; four computer processors and HD Accel card; some of the finest audio processing plug-ins; a custom designed Windows PC running Nuendo Media production software; a control area powered by a PC-based system running Cubase 4 and Logic Pro; connectivity via permanently installed, wall mounted patch boards; and processing from Manley and Universal Audio and Pre-Ambs from Avalon, Universal Audio, and Focusrite. We also feature a 28 workstation MIDI lab; a piano lab with 16 Roland KR-7 digital pianos; a 16 station Finale lab; practice rooms; and dedicated rehearsal and performance space. Performance Opportunities include three bands, each consisting of guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and vocalists. Facilities include a 200-seat Music Hall, dedicated solely for Commercial Music performances and rehearsals; a 400-seat Theater in the Performing Arts Center; and a 100-seat Black Box Theater.
