Gov. Perry Appoints Lieck as District Attorney for 344th District

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Cheryl Swope Lieck of Anahuac as district attorney for the 344th Judicial District in Chambers County for a term to expire at the next general election. The position was created pursuant to House Bill 2569 and is effective Jan. 1, 2009.

Lieck is the Chambers County Attorney. She is a member of the Texas District and County Attorneys Association, and a founding member of the Bridgehaven Children’s Advocacy Board of Directors for Liberty and Chambers County and CASA Advisory Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Anahuac, Winnie Area and West Chambers County chambers of commerce. Lieck received a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University and a law degree from Texas Southern University.
