Gov. Perry Names Evenwel Presiding Officer of Texas Funeral Service Commission

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has named Sue Evenwel of Mt. Pleasant presiding officer of the Texas Funeral Service Commission. The board oversees the licensing of funeral directors and embalmers and their compliance with state statutes and regulations regarding funeral services, cemeteries and crematories.
Evenwel is owner of Designin’ Women Custom Embroidery. She is a member of the Titus County Historical Commission. She is also past vice president of the Mt. Pleasant County Club Ladies Golf Association. Evenwel attended Harper College. She replaces Laurens Fish of Austin as presiding officer.
