Gov. Perry Appoints Oakley to Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed James Oakley of Spicewood to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education for a term to expire Aug. 30, 2011. The board ensures Texans are served by highly trained and ethical law enforcement and corrections personnel through screening, developing and monitoring resources and setting standards.
Oakley is the Texas representative for GovDeals.com and a former Burnet County Commissioner. He is a past member of the Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Study Committee on Rock Crushers and Quarries, and the Capital Area Regional Review Committee. Oakley received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas State University.
