Gov. Perry Names Bryant Chair of Texas Commission on the Arts and Appoints Brock to Commission
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has named Patricia Bryant of Amarillo as chair and appointed Dale Brock of Wichita Falls to the Texas Commission on the Arts. The commission encourages appreciation for fine arts in Texas and acts in an advisory capacity regarding the construction and remodeling of state buildings and works of art.
Bryant is owner of Patty A. Bryant Communications. She is a member and past treasurer of the West Texas A&M University Foundation, past president of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Women’s Association, the Canyon Rotary Club, Panhandle Historical Museum Auxiliary, Amarillo Women’s Forum, a former chair of the Amarillo Convention and Visitor’s Center Board, a former board member of the Leadership Texas and Amarillo Alumnae, Texas Department of Commerce Advisory, Texas Department of Economic Development Tourism Advisory Committee, the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce Executive Board, the Amarillo Little Theatre, Amarillo Opera BRAVO, the Panhandle Historical Society Advisory, Amarillo Better Business Bureau, and the Lone Star Ballet. She received a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University. She will remain chair for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor.
Brock is the North Texas regional senior relationship manager of Citibank. He is a member of the American and Texas Bankers Associations, the Kemp Center for the Arts, and the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee, president of the Wichita Falls Museum Foundation, vice president of Leadership Wichita Falls, and the Wichita Falls Museum of Art board of trustees. Brock is also a volunteer consultant for the Wichita Falls Ballet Theater and a board member of the United Regional Healthcare Foundation. He received a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware. His term will expire Aug. 31, 2013.
