Gov. Perry Appoints Vines to Bioenergy Policy Council

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Danny Vines of Lufkin to the Bioenergy Policy Council for a term to expire Jan. 1, 2012. The council provides a vision to unify Texas’ agricultural, energy and research strengths to foster development within the bioenergy industry to create next-generation biofuels energy research and economic development.

Vines is president of Aspen Pipeline LP. He is past president of the Texas Wood Preserves Advisory Council Inc. and a past board member of the Angelina County Appraisal District. He is a consultant with the Neighborhood Leadership Council of North Lufkin, president of the Pines Gun Club, chapter advisor for Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at Stephen F. Austin State University and a board member of the Phi Delta Theta Housing Corporation. Vines received a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.
