Gov. Perry Appoints Schneider to Texas Poet Laureate, State Musician and State Artists Committee

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Bill Schneider of Austin to the Texas State Poet Laureate, State Musician and State Artists Committee for a term to expire Oct. 1, 2011. The committee chooses the poet laureate, state musician and state artists from a list of individuals submitted by the Texas Commission on the Arts.
Schneider is a principal at B.F. Schneider Family Ltd. He is vice president of the Travis County Municipal Utility District No. 4, a founder and member of the San Saba Wildlife Management Association Board of Directors, and a board member of the Texas Heritage Songwriters Association. Schneider received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
