Gov. Perry Reappoints Sandersen to Veterans’ Land Board

Gov. Rick Perry has reappointed Alan Sandersen of Missouri City to the Veterans' Land Board for a term to expire Dec. 29, 2014. The board helps veterans purchase land, oversees the Land Fund's purchase of property for resale to veterans, and formulates policies and regulations for land transactions.

Sandersen is a certified public accountant (CPA) and managing partner of Sandersen, Knox and Company L.L.P. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, American Institute of CPAs, and American Water Works Association, and a life member of the National Guard Association of Texas. He is past Fort Bend County Representative for the Houston/Galveston Area Council on Aging, past president of First Colony Municipal Utility District No. 9 and past director of the Quail Valley Utility District. He is also past president of the Fort Bend County Housing Finance Corporation, and a past board member and past treasurer of the Rosenberg/Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce. He served in the U.S. Army.

Sanderson received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University.

This appointment is subject to senate confirmation.
