Gov. Perry Appoints Zeidman to One Call Board
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Jay S. Zeidman of Houston to the One Call Board for a term to expire Aug. 31, 2011. The board has authority over "Call Before You Dig" systems that notify underground facility operators of excavation plans, so pipelines and utility lines can be marked to prevent accidents.
Zeidman is a graduate student at the Rice University Jesse Jones Graduate School of Business. He is a board member of the Houston Chapter of the Texas Christian University Young Alumni Association, a member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston Young Adults Division, and a past member of the 2011 Texas Inaugural Committee.
Zeidman received a bachelor's degree from Texas Christian University and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration from Rice University. He will serve as a public member to the board.
This appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
