Gov. Perry Appoints Patteson as Director of Office of State-Federal Relations

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Jason Kevin Patteson of Austin as director of the Office of State-Federal Relations for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. The director acts as a liaison between the state and the federal government, helps coordinate state and federal programs, and informs the governor and Legislature of federal programs that may be carried out in the state or that affect state programs. The director also provides information to federal agencies and Congress about state policy and conditions on matters that concern the federal government.

Patteson is an attorney and special counsel on federal initiatives for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and a past member of the State Employee Charitable Campaign Policy Committee.

Patteson received a bachelor's degree and law degree from Baylor University.
