Gov. Perry Appoints Williams to Product Development and Small Business Incubator Board

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Barry Williams of New Braunfels to the Product Development and Small Business Incubator Board for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2015. The board advises the Texas Economic Development Bank on the administration of the Product and Small Business Development funds.

Williams is a board member and CEO of First State Bank in New Braunfels. He is a member of the Texas Department of Banking Strategic Planning Division, board vice-chairman of the New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation, and a board member of the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce and Comal County Industrial Development Board. He is a member of the New Braunfels Rotary Club, and a member and past board member of the New Braunfels Wurstfest Association. He is also a past board member of the Texas Bankers Association (TBA), TBA Service Company, American Bankers Association (ABA), ABA Community Bankers Council, United Way of Comal County, and New Braunfels Communities in Schools. He is past chairman of the March of Dimes of Comal County, a past board member of McKenna Hospital, and a past board member and past chairman of the McKenna Foundation.

Williams received a bachelor's degree from Texas State University and is a graduate of the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking of the South.
