Gov. Perry Appoints Novak to Texas Facilities Commission

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Michael "Mike" Novak of San Antonio to the Texas Facilities Commission for a term to expire Jan. 31, 2013. The commission is responsible for the acquisition of goods, services and facilities for state government.

Novak is president and CEO of the Novak Group. He is presiding tri-chairman of the city of San Antonio Office of Military Affairs Base Realignment and Closure Implementation Board, and chairman of Morningside Ministries . He is also a board member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Cancer Therapy and Research Center, past president of the Texas and San Antonio chapters of the Associated General Contractors, past chairman of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and KLRN Public Television, and a former Bexar County Commissioner.

Novak received a bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University.
