Gov. Perry Names Bradford Chair of Texas Water Development Board
Gov. Rick Perry has named Billy R. Bradford Jr. of Brownsville chair of the Texas Water Development Board effective April 20, 2012, for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. The board oversees statewide water planning and the administration of financial programs for water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control and conservation projects.
Bradford is a certified public accountant (CPA) and partner at Hales-Bradford LLP. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Texas Society of CPAs, a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Brownsville, and chairman of the Valley Regional Medical Center Board of Governors. He is also past president of the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs, past chair of the Southmost Regional Water Authority, and a past board member and chair of the Brownsville Public Utilities Board.
Bradford received a bachelor's degree from Abilene Christian University.
