Gov. Perry Appoints Minton as Judge of El Paso County Criminal District Court One
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Don Minton of El Paso as judge of the El Paso County Criminal District Court No. 1 for a term to expire at the next general election.
Minton is an attorney in private practice and a former criminal district court judge. He is a member of the American and El Paso Bar associations, the State Bars of Texas and California, and is a past member of the National Child Support Enforcement Association. He is a board member of the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra, a member of the Hornedo Middle School Parent Teacher Association, a past member of the El Paso Independent School District (EPISD) Bond Accountability Committee, and a former volunteer judge of the EPISD Court School for Kids program. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserves.
Minton received a bachelor's degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
