Gov. Perry Appoints Berenzweig to Correctional Managed Health Care Committee
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Harold Berenzweig of Fort Worth to the Correctional Managed Health Care Committee for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2013. Pursuant to Senate Bill 1 of the 82nd Legislature, the committee will develop a managed healthcare plan for Texas prison inmates.
Berenzweig is a physician and vice president of medical and information management at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association, Texas Hospital Association and the American College Physician Executives. He is also a past member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the Fort Worth Independent School District Magnet School Advisory Committee. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Berenzweig received a bachelor's degree from Cornell University, a medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Yale University.
