Gov. Perry Appoints 11 Student Regents Across the State

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed 10 student regents to their respective university systems, and one student representative to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for terms effective June 1, 2012, and expiring May 31, 2013.

Higher Education Coordinating Board
Ryan Bridges is pursuing a Master of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Sam Houston State University.

Texas A&M University
John "Quinten" Womack is pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting from Texas A&M University Kingsville.

Midwestern State University
Holly Allsup is pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing from Midwestern State University.

Stephen F. Austin University
Jourdan Dukes is pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration from Stephen F. Austin University.

Texas Southern University
Juan Sorto is pursuing a Doctorate of Urban Planning from Texas Southern University. He received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Houston, and a Master of Public Administration from Texas Southern University.

Texas State University
Andrew Greenberg is pursuing a bachelor's degree in political science and communication from Lamar University.

Texas Tech University
Suzanne Taylor is pursuing a law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law. She received a bachelor's degree in advertising from Texas Tech University.

Texas Woman's University
Adriana Blanco is pursuing a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Texas Woman's University.

University of Houston
Gage Raba is pursuing a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston Bauer College of Business. He received a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Houston.

University of North Texas
Alexandria Perez is pursuing a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of North Texas at Dallas.

University of Texas
Ashley Purgason is pursuing a Doctorate of Population Health Sciences with a concentration in toxicology from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington.
