Gov. Perry Appoints Swanson to Texas Mutual Insurance Company Board of Directors

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed John Swanson of Frisco to the Texas Mutual Insurance Company Board of Directors for a term to expire July 1, 2017. The board acts as a competitive force in the workers' compensation market to guarantee the availability of workers' compensation in Texas, and acts as the insurer of last resort.
Swanson is president and CEO of Republic Energy Inc. He is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, past technical reviewer for the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and a past trainer for Junior Achievement of Midland. Swanson received a bachelor's degree from Colorado University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas.
