Gov. Perry Appoints Peca as Judge of El Paso County Criminal District Court One

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Peter Peca Jr. of El Paso as judge of El Paso County Criminal District Court One for a term to expire at the next general election.

Peca is senior district judge of the 171st Judicial District Court, and a former judge of El Paso County Court at Law Seven and the 171st Judicial District Court in El Paso County. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and El Paso Bar Association, and a life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. He is also a past member of the El Paso Mexican-American Bar Association and College of the State Bar of Texas. He retired after 28 years of service as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army.

Peca received a bachelor's degree from New Mexico State University and a law degree from Cleveland State University.
