Gov. Perry Appoints Gilliam to Texas School Safety Center Board

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Daniel F. Gilliam of Victoria to the Texas School Safety Center Board for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2013. The board promotes safety throughout the state and advises the Texas School Safety Center in San Marcos, which provides school safety information and resources for the prevention of youth violence.

Gilliam is judge of County Court at Law #2 in Victoria County. He is a former adjunct professor at Victoria College and former assistant criminal district attorney for the Victoria County Criminal District Attorney's Office. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, State Bar of Texas Judicial Section, Victoria County Bar Association and Victoria Rotary Club. He is also a past member of the Texas District and County Attorneys Association.

Gilliam received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from South Texas College of Law.
