Gov. Perry Appoints Eckstrum and Stunja to San Jacinto River Authority
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed John Eckstrum of Montgomery and reappointed Joseph Stunja of Kingwood to the San Jacinto River Authority Board of Directors for terms to expire Oct. 16, 2017. The board is responsible for the conservation, protection and development of water resources for the San Jacinto River watershed.
Eckstrum is a real estate broker and co-owner of First Group. He is a board member of the Texas and Louisiana chapters of the National Association of Realtors, and past board chairman of the Texas Association of Realtors and Texas Real Estate Commission. He is also a life member and past vice president of the Montgomery County Fair Association, a past board member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, and past president of the Conroe Jaycees. Eckstrum attended St. Mary's University and is a graduate of the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service.
Stunja is former president and current special projects manager of the Friendswood Development Company. He is a board member of the West Ranch Management District and past chair of the Lake Houston Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone. He is also a past board member of the Kingwood Medical Center, Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce, Kingwood Super Neighborhood Committee, and Lake Houston Family YMCA. Stunja received a bachelor's degree and Master of Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University.
