Gov. Perry Reappoints Three to the Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board
Gov. Rick Perry has reappointed three members of the Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board for terms to expire Feb. 1, 2014. The board adopts rules for the licensing and certification of real estate appraisers in the state.
Luis De La Garza of Laredo is a board-certified appraiser with DLG Appraisal Inc. He is a director of the Laredo Association of Realtors, past board member of the South Texas Future of the Region, and a member of Kiwanis International. De La Garza received a bachelor's degree from St. Edward's University and a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M International University.
Laurie Fontana of Houston is a licensed real estate appraiser and owner of LF Appraisal and Consulting. She is a member of the Association of Texas Appraisers, Houston Association of Realtors, American Association of Christian Counselors, and the Christian Coaching Alliance. She is also a past member of the National Association of Master Appraisers and the Houston Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Fontana attended Texas State University and received an associate degree from the Houston Community College Bradford School of Business.
Shannon McClendon of Dripping Springs is a shareholder and attorney at Webking McClendon PC. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Gulf Coast Power Association and the Air and Waste Management Association. She is a past secretary and board member of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, past member of the American Bar Association, and a past board member of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas Technical Advisory Committee. McClendon received a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
