Gov. Perry Appoints Wheat to Health and Human Services Council

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Thomas Craig Wheat of Dallas to the Health and Human Services Council for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2013. The council helps develop policies and rules for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, and makes recommendations regarding management and operation of the commission.

Wheat is an owner of Pediatric Home Healthcare LLC and The Connally Group. He is a member of Pediatric Home Healthcare Advisory Board and Pediatric Home Healthcare Board of Directors. He is also a life member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and a past volunteer for the American Cancer Society of Dallas, Myocarditis Foundation, Live Strong Foundation, Alzheimer's Foundation of America, and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Wheat received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Texas Tech University.
