Gov. Perry Appoints Allen to Council on Sex Offender Treatment

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Elsie Allen of Fort Worth to the Council on Sex Offender Treatment for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2015. The council develops and implements education policy concerning effective interventions and management of sex offenders.

Allen is a former patrol officer for the Fort Worth Police Department and a licensed minister, president/CEO and women's personal safety coach for Sisters S.O.S. Ministry Inc. She is a member of the International Women's Leadership Association and Women On Course Golf Association, and the crime watch coordinator and director of the Cobblestone Senior Community Center Neighbor to Neighbor Program. She is a past member of the East Fort Worth Business Association, Fort Worth Black Chamber of Commerce, Association of Women Entrepreneurs, African-American Women's Network, and the Appraisal Review Board for Tarrant County.

Allen is a graduate of the Fort Worth Police Academy.
