Gov. Perry Appoints Craddick to Railroad Commission of Texas

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Christi Craddick of Austin to the Railroad Commission of Texas effective Dec. 17, 2012. Commissioner Craddick will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Commissioner Buddy Garcia. She will serve an appointed term through the end of 2012, and will begin serving a six-year term as an elected Railroad Commissioner on Jan. 1, 2013.

Craddick is an attorney in private practice and small business owner. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Travis County Bar Association, and a past board member of Texas Lyceum. She is also a member of the Junior League of Austin, University of Texas Liberal Arts Alumni Council, Pi Beta Phi Sorority Alumni Club, and Texas Exes-University of Texas Alumni Association.

Craddick received a bachelor's degree and a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
