Gov. Perry Appoints Yancy to Statewide Health Coordinating Council

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Bob Yancy of College Station to the Statewide Health Coordinating Council for a term to expire Aug. 1, 2015. The council evaluates long-term local, regional and statewide health needs and provides overall guidance in development of the Texas State Health Plan, which is submitted to the governor every two years.

Yancy is CEO of MEMdata, a technology consulting firm that assists hospitals and health systems in reducing costs. He is a member of the College Station Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau and American Legion, and a board member of the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation - College Station Region. He served as an air weapons controller and instructor in the U.S. Air Force.

Yancy received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University.
