Gov. Perry Appoints Allen and Neuhaus to Rio Grande Regional Water Authority
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Troy Allen of Edcouch and Lance Neuhaus of Mercedes to the Rio Grande Regional Water Authority for terms to expire Feb. 1, 2013. The authority develops water policies, manages floods and protects the quality of water for the Rio Grande that borders Willacy, Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, Zapata and Webb counties.
Allen is general manager of the Delta Lake Irrigation District. He is vice president of the Lower Rio Grande Water Committee, a member of the Texas Irrigation Council, Texas Water Conservation Association and Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council, and past president of the Lower Rio Grande Water District Managers Association. He is also assistant director of the Rio Grande Valley South Texas Harley Owners Group Inc. and Magic Valley Riders MC Inc., chairman of South Padre Island Bikefest, and coordinator of Beach-N-Bikerfest. Allen attended Texas State Technical College.
Neuhaus is president of Neuhaus and Company. He is a board member of Rio Grande Valley Sugar Growers Inc. and Rio Farms Inc.. He is also president-elect of the Hidalgo County 4H Foundation. Neuhaus received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University.
