Gov. Perry Reappoints Blackwood and Kinney to State Securities Board
Gov. Rick Perry has reappointed Beth Ann Blackwood of Dallas and E. Wally Kinney of Dripping Springs to the State Securities Board for terms to expire Jan. 20, 2019. The board protects investors by enforcing Texas securities laws to ensure a free and competitive securities market.
Blackwood is an attorney and partner at Thomas and Blackwood LLP. She is a member of the American and Dallas Bar associations, and an advisory board member of the STAR Neighborhood Association. She is also a past member of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Foundation President's Advocacy Council, Dallas White Rock Marathon Board of Trustees and Dallas City Bank Advisory Board. Blackwood received a bachelor's degree and law degree from Baylor University. She will continue to serve as chair of the board at the pleasure of the governor.
Kinney is a private consultant and former senior vice president of First Data U.S.A. He is a life member of the Austin Chamber of Commerce, past president and life member of the Austin Optimist Club, past chairman of the Hays County Infrastructure Committee, and a past member of the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority Advisory Board. Kinney attended Texas State University and received an advanced certificate from the American Institute of Banking.
These appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
