Gov. Perry Appoints 11 Student Regents Across the State

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed 10 student regents to their respective university systems, and one student representative to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for terms effective June 1, 2013, and expiring May 31, 2014.

Higher Education Coordinating Board
Alice Schneider is pursuing a bachelor's degree in economics from Texas A&M University at College Station.

Midwestern State University
Shelby Davis is pursuing a bachelor's degree in mass communication from Midwestern State University.

Stephen F. Austin State University
Matthew Logan is pursuing a bachelor's degree in hospitality administration from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Texas A&M University
Nicholas Madere is pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology from Texas A&M University at College Station.

Texas Southern University
Faran Foy is pursuing a law degree from the Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law. She received a bachelor's degree in English from Florida State University.

Texas State University
Matthew Russell is pursuing a bachelor's degree in public administration from Texas State University.

Texas Tech University
Joshua Heimbecker is pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology from Angelo State University.

Texas Woman's University
Joleesia Berry is pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas Woman's University.

University of Houston
Benjamin Wells is pursuing a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. He received a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Southern Methodist University.

University of North Texas
Rodolfo Reynoso Jr. is pursuing a bachelor's degree in communications studies from the University of North Texas.

University of Texas
Nash Horne is pursuing a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
