Gov. Perry Appoints 11 Student Regents Across the State

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed 10 student regents to their respective university systems, and one student representative to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for terms effective June 1, 2014, and expiring May 31, 2015.

Higher Education Coordinating Board
Gerald "Jerry" Korty is pursuing a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of North Texas (UNT) Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He received a Master of Science degree in medical sciences from UNT Health Science Center and a bachelor's degree in behavioral neuroscience from Purdue University.

Midwestern State University
Jesse Brown is pursuing a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Midwestern State University.

Stephen F. Austin State University
Kelsey Brown is pursuing a bachelor's degree and master's degree in history from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Texas A&M University System
Colton Buckley is pursuing a bachelor's degree in political science from Tarleton State University.

Texas Southern University
Marshaun Williams is pursuing a bachelor's degree in public affairs from Texas Southern University.

Texas State University System
Anna Sandoval is pursuing a bachelor's degree in education from Sul Ross State University.

Texas Tech University System
Coby Ray is pursuing a medical degree from Texas Tech University (TTU) Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. He received a Master of Business Administration from TTU Rawls College of Business and a bachelor's degree in sports management from the University of North Texas.

Texas Woman's University
Candace Henslee is pursuing a bachelor's degree in government and legal studies from Texas Woman's University.

University of Houston System
Asit Shah is pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Houston.

University of North Texas System
Christopher "Chris" Vera is pursuing a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of North Texas (UNT) Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and a master of public health degree from the UNT Health Science Center School of Public Health. He received a bachelor's degree in biology from UNT.

The University of Texas System
Max Richards is pursuing a bachelor's degree in government from The University of Texas at Austin.
