Gov. Perry Appoints Hall to Texas Economic Development Corporation
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Kathryn Hall of Dallas to the Texas Economic Development Corporation and as special adviser on international business for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. The corporation supports programs and activities of the Governor's Division of Economic Development and Tourism, in addition to TexasOne, which markets Texas competitively and dynamically to businesses outside the state's borders.
Hall is co-owner and chair of HALL Wines of Napa and Hall Wines, LLC, and previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to Austria. She is a member of the California State Bar Association, past director of T-Hrvatski Telekom Board, and a past member of the Texas State Bar Association, National Advisory Council for Violence Against Women, and the U.S. House of Representatives Hunger Advisory Board. She is a member of Legal Aid of Napa Valley Board of Directors and the North Texas Food Bank Advisory Board, as well as a member and past director of the Council on Foreign Affairs. She is also past director of the Texas Mental Health Association and a past member of the Dallas Symphony Association.
Hall received a bachelor's degree from the University of California (UC), Berkeley, a law degree from UC Hastings College of Law, and a Master of Business Administration from UC Berkeley and Columbia University.
