Gov. Perry Appoints Longoria to University of Texas Board of Regents
Feb. 01, 2008 AUSTIN –Gov. Rick Perry appointed Janiece Longoria of Houston to the University of Texas Board of Regents for a term to expire February 1, 2011. Longoria is a partner at the law firm of Ogden, Gibson, Broocks & Longoria, L.L.P. She serves on the Board of Directors of Centerpoint Energy, Inc., and is a commissioner for the Port of Houston Authority. Additionally, Longoria serves on the board of directors of the Greater Houston Partnership, Galveston Bay Foundation and Heritage Society. She formerly served as a member of the board of trustees of the Houston Symphony, Houston Symphony Endowment, Cultural Arts Council of Houston Harris County, and President’s Advisory Council of St. Thomas University. Longoria earned a bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She replaces Robert Estrada of Fort Worth.
