Gov. Perry Appoints Four Individuals To Lower Neches Valley Authority Board of Directors
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the appointment of four individuals to the Lower Neches Valley Authority Board of Directors. The board provides water, manages floods and protects the quality of water for the Lower Neches Valley.
Steven M. McReynolds of Port Neches is president of Groves Equipment Rental Company, Inc. He serves as committee chairman of Mid-County Young Life and an advisory director of Texas State Bank. McReynolds received a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University. His term will expire July 28, 2007.
Sue Cleveland of Kountze is president of Cleveco Construction Company, Inc. She serves on the board of the Texas Building Branch and is treasurer of the Associated General Contractors of Jefferson County, Inc. Her term will expire July 28, 2009.
Kathleen Thea Jackson of Beaumont is a public affairs manager for Exxon Mobil Corporation and a Texas Registered Professional Engineer. She serves on the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce Education Committee and Minority Business Partnership. Jackson is a member of the Lower Neches Basin Water Quality Assessment Program and former member of the Sabine-Neches Waterway Southeast Texas Channel Improvements Task Force. She is former chairman of the Southeast Texas Region American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Jackson received a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University. Her term will expire July 28, 2009.
Jimmie Ruth Cooley is mayor of the City of Woodville, serving since 1999. She is a member of the board of directors of the Tyler County Chamber of Commerce, the Woodville Team City and chairman of the Tyler County Hospital Foundation. She is the state board representative for Region 16 of the Texas Municipal League and serves as treasurer of the executive board of the Deep East Texas Council of Governments. Cooley also is a member of the Office of Community Affairs Task Force and the Deep East Texas Regional Review Committee, appointed by Gov. Perry. She is a graduate of the American Institute of Real Estate. Her term will expire July 28, 2009.
These appointments are subject to senate confirmation.
