Gov. Perry Appoints Three to the Credit Union Commission
AUSTIN: Gov. Rick Perry appointed three individuals to the Credit Union Commission for terms to expire Feb. 15, 2013. The commission supervises the Credit Union Department which regulates all credit unions organized and chartered under the laws of the State of Texas.
Allyson Truax Morrow of San Benito is CEO of the Harlingen Area Teachers’ Credit Union. She is a board member of the United Way of Northern Cameron County, and a volunteer with the Cameron County Fair and Livestock Show and Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show. Morrow is vice president of the board for the Boys and Girls Club of Harlingen and a committee member of the Texas Credit Union League Dues Task Force. She received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Texas A&M University.
Dale E. Kimble of Denton is president and CEO of Denton Area Teachers Credit Union (DATCU) and is being reappointed to the Credit Union Commission. He formerly worked for La Dotd and Mobiloil federal credit unions. Kimble is a member of the Denton County Sheriff’s Advisory Council and a director of the Denton Chamber of Commerce, Denton County United Way and AIDS Services of North Texas. He is also a director of the Denton County Children’s Advocacy Center, Heroes of Denton County and Denton Regional Hospital. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky.
Thomas Felton Butler of Deer Park is a systems analyst and president of Butler and Company, and president of Media Acquisitions Corporation. He is being reappointed to the commission. He is a board member of the Texas Community Service, member of the Seabrook Rotary Club, and volunteers with Youth Victim Witness. Butler received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston.
These appointments are subject to senate confirmation.
