Gov. Perry Names Snider As Chair of Finance Commission of Texas
AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perry has announced the reappointment of John Snider of Center to the Finance Commission of Texas for terms to expire Feb. 1, 2012. He has also designated Snider as chair of the commission to serve at the pleasure of the governor. The commission oversees the regulation of financial institutions chartered or licensed under state law. Snider is president of Shelby Savings Bank. He serves as director of the Center Economic Development Corporation and the Center Economic Development Foundation. He is chairman of the stewardship committee of the First Baptist Church and past chairman of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. He is also director and past chairman-elect of the Texas Savings and Community Bankers Association. Snider received a bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne University. This appointment is subject to senate confirmation during the 2007 Regular Session.
