Gov. Perry Reappoints DeVault to the San Jacinto Historical Advisory Board
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the reappointment of Jan DeVault of Houston to the San Jacinto Historical Advisory Board for a term to expire Sept. 1, 2011. The board advises the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission on proper historical development of the historic battleground at San Jacinto.
DeVault is the executive vice president of American International Exploration Corporation. She serves as president of the San Jacinto Battleground Association and is a past president of the San Jacinto chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. DeVault has been a member of the board of management for the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and has served on their governing committees for the French Legation and the Alamo. She is a founding director of the Pioneer Memorial Log House Museum in Hermann Park, Houston. DeVault is currently active in organizations that focus on Texas History and is an author and speaker on topics that relate to the San Jacinto Battleground.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.
