Gov. Perry Appoints Warne as Judge of the 257th Judicial District Court
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the appointment of Judy Lynn Warne of Spring as judge of the 257th Judicial District Court serving Harris County. Warne will serve for a term until the next general election.
Warne, board certified in family law, has practiced in the Houston area for more than 20 years. She is adjunct professor of family law at the South Texas College of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association and the Houston Bar Association. Warne is also a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. She volunteers with Legaline, a free legal service, and Lawyers in Public Schools, which are both sponsored by the Houston Bar Association. Warne has volunteered for years with Family Time, a women’s and children’s shelter, and she and her husband have previously served as honorary chairpersons for the shelter’s silver anniversary celebration.
Warne graduated magna cum laude from the University of Saint Thomas and received a law degree from the University of Houston.
