Governor Appoints Three to Texas County and District Retirement Systems
AUSTIN- Gov. Rick Perry has announced the appointment of three individuals to the Texas County and District Retirement Systems for terms expiring Dec. 31, 2009. The system is a non-profit public trust providing pension, disability and death benefits for eligible employees of participating counties and districts.
County commissioner Daniel Haggerty of El Paso is owner and president of Century 21 Haggerty. He is a member of the State Rio Grande Regional Review Committee, the Rio Grande Council of Government and the State TexPool Advisory Committee.
Jan Kennady of New Braunfels is a Comal county commissioner. She is a former mayor of New Braunfels and a professional registered parliamentarian. She is a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians, the American Institute of Parliamentarians and the Alamo Registered Parliamentarians. Kennady received a bachelor’s degree from Alexandria Business College in Louisiana.
Bob Willis of Livingston is a Polk county commissioner. He is past president of the Tax Assessor Collector Association, past vice-president of the Texas Association of Counties and served as chairman of the board of Tax Professional Examiners. He received a bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University.
These appointments are subject to senate approval.
