Gov. Perry Names Three Individuals To Texas State Technical College System Board of Regents
AUSTIN- Gov. Rick Perry has announced the appointment of three individuals to the Texas State Technical College System Board of Regents for terms expiring Aug. 31, 2009. The board establishes policies to direct and govern Texas State Technical College System and to assure compliance with legislative intent.
Barbara Rusling of China Spring is a real estate broker affiliated with Coldwell Banker Jim Stewart, Realtors. She is a member of the National, Texas and Waco Associations of Realtors and is a certified residential specialist and residential brokerage manager. She is a member of the Texas Apartments Association and the Heart of Texas Apartment Association. Rusling was first appointed to the board in 2002 and served in the 74th Legislature as a representative from District 57. She received her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University.
Nora Castaneda of Harlingen is a physician relations and business development manager at Dolly Vinsant Memorial Hospital. She is a member of the Texas State University Alumni Board, an ambassador to San Benito Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Harlingen Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Castaneda was a member and past officer of Beta Sigma Phi Women’s City Sorority. A graduate of Texas State University, she received a graduate degree from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi.
J. V. Martin of Sweetwater is president and CEO of First National Bank. He is a member of the Texas Banking Association and the American Bankers Association. Martin serves on the board of directors of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, the Hendrick Medical Center, the Nolan County Community Foundation and the Rolling Plains Technical Foundation. A graduate of Texas Tech University, and Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
These appointments are subject to senate confirmation.
