Gov. Perry Appoints Two to Study Commission on Water for Environmental Flows
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the appointment of two individuals to the Study Commission on Water for Environmental Flows. The commission was established by Senate Bill 1639 to conduct public hearings and study ways to balance the growing demands for Texas’s water resources with environmental concerns. Jerry Lynn Clark of Buna is the executive vice president and general manager of the Sabine River Authority of Texas. He is on the board of directors for the Texas Water Conservation Association, is a board member of the National Water Resources Association, and is a member of the Regional Water Planning Groups established by the legislature. Clark also served in the Texas House of Representative for 10 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Lamar University in Beaumont. W. E. “Bill” West, Jr., of Seguin is the general manager of the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority. He is a board member and past president of the Texas Water Conservation Association and is on board of the Natural Water Resources Association. West also serves on the Senate Bill 1 Steering Committee on Water Planning. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
