Gov. Perry Reappoints Hooverson To Texas Historical Records Advisory Board
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the reappointment of Richard L. Hooverson of Belton to the Texas Historical Records Advisory Board for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2006. The board works to improve archival and records storage conditions within the state.
Hooverson is a professional genealogist and owner of Out of the Past in Belton. He serves on the boards of the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors and the Texas State Genealogical Society. Hooverson also is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Society of Southwest Archivists. He has received an Award of Merit and two Certificates of Appreciation from the Texas State Genealogical Society and was named Outstanding Columnist by the Society of Genealogical Columnists in 1997.
Hooverson served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.
