Gov. Perry Appoints Eight to Charitable Campaign Advisory Committee
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the appointment of eight individuals to the State Employee Charitable Campaign Advisory Committee for terms to expire Jan. 1, 2004. The committee helps develop rules and procedures for the state employee charitable campaign and reviews the recommended campaign plan. Kristen Rae Alexander of Dallas is associate director of resource development with the United Way of Metro Dallas and a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Cynthia Y. Benson of Midland, who is being reappointed to the committee, is the executive director of the United Way of Midland. She is a graduate of the University of Texas Permian Basin. Patrick W. Chavez of El Paso is a campaign manager for the United Way of El Paso County and a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso. Peter C. Mastrangelo of Corpus Christ is executive director of the United Way of the Coastal Bend. He received a bachelor’s degree from Assumption College in Worcester, Mass., and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Aaron R. Montemayor of Belton is executive director of the United Way, Greater Fort Hood Area and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Tara Kathleen Ballard of Austin is director of Texas Campaign Services, Local Independent Charities and Independent Charities of America for Maguire Maguire. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Traci Wickett of Brownsville is president of the United Way of Southern Cameron County and a graduate of Corpus Christi State University, now known as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Carolyn Young of Austin is a program director for the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans and a master’s degree from Xavier University of New Orleans.
